Speak up, speak out

Derbyshire County Council, Derbyshire Constabulary and our partners are pleased to invite you to mark Holocaust Memorial 2012 at County Hall in Matlock on Friday, 27th January 2012 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.

everyone to learn lessons from the Holocaust, Nazi persecution and subsequent genocides and apply them to the present day to create a safer, better future. http://hmd.org.uk (opens in a new window)

This year’s theme ‘Speak Up, Speak Out’  asks us to think about the responsibility and obligation we all have to speak up when we see or hear something which we believe to be wrong or when other people suffer. It challenges us to learn about what happens when we don’t use our voice and what can happen when we do Speak Out.

We hope that you will find the time to join us for these events happening between 21 and 27 January 2012.

Derbyshire County Council is working with Derbyshire Constabulary to make Holocaust Memorial Day 2012 have the greatest impact possible by involving Derbyshire children and young people and communities in creative ways.

There are no tickets for events but you can reserve your place by completing the booking form through the arts Derbyshire website (opens in a new window).
